Cytecare Hospitals opens Prostate & Urinary Clinic, marks launch with ‘Ride for Him’

Bengaluru, 04th November 2026: Cytecare Hospitals, launched its Prostate & Urinary Clinic at its Yelahanka facility, bringing together care for urinary conditions, urological cancers and male reproductive health. The launch was marked by ‘Ride for Him’, a prostate cancer awareness motorcycle ride that encouraged conversations about men’s health and timely medical assessment.

The 170-kilometre ride brought together 87 riders, including members of Kwality Mobikes Riders and hospital staff,  covering the route from Cytecare Hospitals to Sabbanahalli Picnic Point and back. Dr Moin Mohammed Bhavikatti, Senior Consultant, Urology, and Jojis Mathew, Centre Head, Cytecare Hospitals, flagged off the ride. Full riding gear was mandatory for all participants.

This ride comes in light of the increasing number of patients diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. The study published in the Indian Journal of Urology in 2024 based on the data of the National Cancer Registry Programme found out that around 43% of the patients diagnosed with prostate cancer at the hospitals have been affected through metastasis. The study highlighted the fact that the incidence tends to rise after 50

The clinic will examine and treat various health disorders such as an enlarged prostate gland, urinary retention, kidney stones, and frequent urination. Some of the activities of this facility included assessing higher levels of prostate-specific antigen (PSA), urological malignancies, as well as male reproductive and sexual health. This medical center combined diagnostics and treatment services and delivered its services using a multi-specialty approach, when necessary.

The importance of prostate health in promoting men’s health cannot be underestimated. To be strong is not just to ignore some alarming signs or symptoms of health disorders. It is to find out the information about the medical consultations a man can get and the tests he can undergo in the clinic. Being woken up during the night because of the need to urinate or having problems while emptying the bladder should not be interpreted as a natural part of the process of aging. These issues may be the result of non-cancerous reasons but the only examination can help identify the exact cause of the health disorder said Dr Moin Mohammed Bhavikatti, Senior Consultant, Urology, Cytecare Hospitals.

“Early prostate cancer may cause no symptoms, which makes understanding individual risk equally important. A discussion about age, family history and overall health can help determine whether PSA testing is appropriate. An elevated PSA result alone does not establish a cancer diagnosis,” he added.

The awareness initiative focused on providing practical public information about urinary symptoms, prostate cancer risk and the benefits and limitations of testing. It encouraged men to discuss concerns openly and seek individual medical advice.

“Awareness should give people the confidence and information to take the next step. Through ‘Ride for Him’, we want to encourage men to speak openly about urinary and reproductive health concerns. The Prostate & Urinary Clinic brings the relevant specialties together, supporting a coordinated pathway from consultation and diagnosis to treatment and follow-up,” said Jojis Mathew, Centre Head, Cytecare Hospitals.

Together, the clinic launch and community ride highlighted the importance of recognising changes in urinary health, seeking advice without embarrassment and making informed decisions about care.
