New Delhi,Nov 04: JS Institute of Design, New Delhi, celebrated Innovation Day in October, bringing together students and industry professionals to explore creativity, experimentation and the future of design. The occasion also marked the institute’s Foundation Day and the birth anniversary of Late Shri Jagdish Khandelwal, founder of Jagdish Store and JS Institute of Design.
The celebrations featured three key engagements. The Innovision Workshop, held on 21–22 October and led by industry expert Prof. Soumitra Dasgupta, encouraged students to explore ideas and push creative boundaries. On 23 October, the Student Poster Showcase presented students’ creative perspectives and innovative ideas.
The program concluded on 24 October with ‘Innovation Now and in Future’, a roundtable featuring over 30 industry experts and practitioners. The discussion explored emerging opportunities and challenges across gaming, visual communication, animation, product design, photography, interior design and fashion design.
Commenting on the celebrations, Nien Siao, Dean, JS Institute of Design said,
“Innovation thrives when curiosity, creativity and collaboration come together. Innovation Day gives our students an opportunity to explore new perspectives, engage with industry practitioners and understand the evolving role of design. This year’s celebrations were particularly meaningful as we also marked our Foundation Day and honoured the legacy of Late Shri Jagdish Khandelwal, whose vision continues to inspire our commitment to design education.”
Through Innovation Day 2026, JSID reaffirmed its focus on fostering creative thinking, experiential learning and industry engagement, while celebrating the vision that underpins the institute’s journey.
