New Delhi, October 20th, 2026: Actor Yami Gautam has joined Trimacare®, the maternal nutrition brand from PlusPlus Lifesciences, as its brand ambassador, leading a national awareness campaign aimed at bringing greater attention to pregnancy nutrition and its importance in maternal healthcare.
Anchored in the philosophy “Baby ka future, maa ke nutrition se banta hai,” the campaign seeks to encourage a more comprehensive understanding of maternal nutrition, moving beyond conversations around individual nutrients to explore nutritional needs across different stages of pregnancy. Through a series of six films, the initiative will address subjects such as hidden hunger, epigenetics and the role of maternal nutrition in a child’s growth and development, bringing these conversations beyond clinical settings and into Indian households.

Pregnancy nutrition has traditionally focused on individual nutrients such as iron, folic acid and calcium, which remain important components of antenatal care. However, maternal nutritional requirements evolve from preconception through pregnancy and lactation, making it important to understand the broader range of nutrients required at different stages. Even when food intake appears adequate, the quality and diversity of the diet can influence micronutrient intake, highlighting the need for greater awareness of nutritional adequacy alongside dietary quantity.
Trimacare aims to contribute to this evolving conversation through its three-stage approach to maternal nutrition, comprising Trimacare 1, Trimacare 2 and Trimacare 3. Trimacare 1 is designed for preconception, assisted reproductive technology (ART), and the first trimester, while Trimacare 2 and Trimacare 3 address subsequent stages of pregnancy. The formulations contain more than 20 essential micronutrients, including iron, folate, calcium, vitamins, minerals, and Omega-3, alongside 5-MTHF folate and choline. The formulations also incorporate bioavailable forms of key nutrients, with Omega-3 sourced from deep-sea algae and providing DHA and EPA.
The brand’s formulation and three-stage approach received a patent from the Government of India in November 2023. This approach reflects Trimacare’s focus on recognising the changing nutritional requirements associated with different stages of pregnancy and bringing a more comprehensive perspective to maternal nutrition.
Commenting on the association, Yami Gautam said, “Nutrition is an important part of pregnancy, yet there is still so much to understand about the nutritional needs of a mother and her developing baby. What stood out to me about Trimacare was its focus on nutrition across different stages and its effort to bring lesser-discussed subjects into everyday conversations. I am happy to be part of an initiative that aims to make these conversations more accessible and encourages women to seek the right information and guidance from their doctors.”
Sameer Agarwal, Co-Founder and CEO, PlusPlus Lifesciences, said, “Maternal nutrition is imperative during pregnancy, as it plays a crucial role in supporting the baby’s lifelong health. In India, despite approximately 2.5 crore births every year, antenatal care has largely approached nutrition through individual supplements such as iron, folic acid and calcium, rather than a comprehensive approach to maternal nutrition. With Trimacare, we aim to bridge this gap and establish maternal nutrition as a distinct category within antenatal care. Trimacare is not just another multivitamin; it is scientifically formulated for each trimester, recognising the changing nutritional needs throughout pregnancy. Through this campaign, we want to bring this conversation into the mainstream and encourage greater awareness of maternal nutrition as an integral part of maternal and child healthcare.”
Surbhi Gupta, Co-founder & Director, PlusPlus Lifesciences, said, “As a woman, I understand how managing multiple pills during pregnancy can become overwhelming, making consistent supplementation difficult and potentially contributing to gastrointestinal side effects. This was one of the key concerns behind Trimacare. We wanted to address the challenge of compliance through scientifically formulated trimester-specific formulations that bring essential nutrients together to support the changing nutritional needs of pregnancy. In a country like India, there is a clear need to move beyond the fragmented approach of individual nutrient supplementation and recognise maternal nutrition as an integral part of antenatal care. Through Trimacare, we aim to contribute to this shift and help women understand how maternal nutrition can support their baby’s lifelong health.”
Through her association with Trimacare, Yami Gautam will help take these conversations to a wider audience. Rather than focusing solely on supplementation, the campaign seeks to build awareness of hidden hunger, multiple micronutrient nutrition and the importance of understanding nutritional requirements during the critical stages of maternal and early-life development. The initiative also aims to encourage women to have more informed conversations with their doctors about their individual nutritional needs, dietary requirements and appropriate supplementation.
The campaign will roll out nationally across print, digital, television, social media and outdoor platforms. Through this initiative, Trimacare aims to establish maternal nutrition as an important part of the broader maternal healthcare conversation and encourage a more informed understanding of the role nutrition plays from preconception through pregnancy and lactation.
