New Delhi, July 13: India’s civil aviation sector has achieved a significant milestone in its sustainability journey, with 104 airports across the country now operating on 100% renewable energy, Civil Aviation Minister announced.
The achievement reflects the government’s continued focus on promoting green aviation, reducing carbon emissions, and encouraging the adoption of clean energy solutions across airport infrastructure.
The transition to renewable energy is part of India’s broader commitment towards sustainable development and achieving environmental goals. Airports across the country have increasingly adopted solar power, energy-efficient technologies, and other green initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint.
The Civil Aviation Ministry has been working closely with airport operators and stakeholders to accelerate the use of renewable energy and enhance sustainability in the aviation sector.
