Gurugram, Aug 14: After bringing together over 1.5 lakh participants last year, Kenstar, one of India’s home appliance brands, is bringing back its ‘No Phone Hour’ campaign as No Phone Hour 2.0, with a target of engaging 3X participants this Independence Day. Through #NoPhoneHour, the campaign invites people across India to put their phones aside for one hour and reconnect with family, friends and loved ones.
In a world where being constantly connected has become the norm, Kenstar is reimagining the meaning of freedom this Independence Day, not just as freedom from external constraints, but also as the freedom to disconnect from digital distractions. With No Phone Hour 2.0, the brand aims to turn a simple act of putting down the phone into a larger movement encouraging people to reclaim time for real conversations, shared experiences and meaningful connections. Adding Joy to the small moments In Life.
Sunil Jain, CEO, Kenstar, said
“Joy is at the heart of everything we do at Kenstar. Our mission is not just to add joy through our products and services, but through every interaction we have with our consumers.
With No Phone Hour, we are taking this belief beyond our products. We want to create moments that bring people closer, encourage conversations, and help families and friends reconnect.
Last year, more than 1.5 lakh people chose to step away from their screens and spend an hour reconnecting with those around them. The response showed us that, in an increasingly connected world, people are also looking for meaningful opportunities to disconnect.
With No Phone Hour 2.0, we want to take this movement further and bring together even more people this Independence Day. For us, this is more than just an initiative—it is our small contribution towards adding more joy, togetherness and genuine human connections to the lives of lakhs of Indians.”
The first edition of No Phone Hour saw 1.5 lakh participants come together around the simple idea of switching off from the virtual world and being present in the real one. Building on this response, No Phone Hour 2.0 aims to make the initiative bigger and more participative by encouraging individuals, families and communities to consciously set aside their phones to talk, prepare a meal, play a game or simply spend uninterrupted time together.
The campaign reflects Kenstar’s belief that while technology continues to make everyday life more convenient and connected, there is value in occasionally pressing pause on the digital world to make room for real-world connections.
