La Martiniere for Boys Students Earn Prestigious Invitation to CERN Masterclass 2026 in Geneva

Kolkata, July 18: La Martiniere for Boys, Kolkata, won the Bose Beamline Challenge for Schools 2025 and received the prestigious Visionary Award, marking a significant achievement for the school and its students.

A research paper by Raghav Agarwal, Kabir Agarwal, Yuvraj Shah, Varun Bajoria and Saatvik Gupta, under the guidance of S. M. Banerjee, earned a team of 12 students an invitation to the CERN Masterclass 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland. The team included Krishav Agarwal, Aarav Kapoor, Yunav Popat, Aarash Neville Koyithara, Stavan Jain and Viraj Saraogi.

During their visit, the students explored CERN's renowned facilities, including the Antimatter Factory and the ATLAS, ALICE and LHCb experiments. They attended lectures by leading scientists and analysed real particle physics data, gaining exposure to advanced scientific research.

The students also visited the United Nations headquarters, Chamonix and Mont Blanc. The experience was an inspiring celebration of scientific achievement, discovery and global learning.
