Udayjyot Music Foundation Presents a Memorable Evening of Musical Excellence and Tribute

 New Delhi | Mar 27: The Udayjyot Music Foundation (UMF) successfully organized a mesmerizing evening dedicated to Indian classical music, honoring legendary maestros while providing a platform for emerging talents.

 The program commenced with an address by Mrs Sadhna Srivastava, setting a soulful and spiritual tone for the evening. This was followed by a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Pt. Rajan Mishra, offered in the gracious presence of Pt. Sajan Mishra.

 The distinguished guests present on the occasion included Manoj Dubey (Chairman, IRFC), Satish Nambudiripad (Director General, Doordarshan), Sudhir Kaul & Dolly Kaul, Aparna Sopori, Arun Gopal, Kunhiraman Marar, and Cherthala Udaya Kumar.

 The musical journey began with a harmonium recital by Master Ujjwal Udaya Kumar, who presented a beautiful rendition of Raag Yaman. He was accompanied on the tabla by Aditya Singh, adding depth and rhythmic brilliance to the performance. This was followed by a captivating violin recital in the Carnatic tradition by Vid. Alankond V.S. Gokul, along with Shri Nochur Nagaraj on Mridangam and Shri Varun Rajasekharan on Ghatam, featuring enchanting compositions in Raag Bhimpalasi and Hamsadhwani. His exceptional technical finesse and emotive expression left the audience spellbound.

 The grand finale featured an impactful Hindustani classical vocal recital by Pt. Sajan Mishra, accompanied by Swaransh Mishra, along with renowned Ustad Rafiuddin Sabri on the Tabla and Shri Lalit Sisodia on Harmonium. The performance offered the audience a deeply immersive and enriching musical experience.

 A major highlight of the evening was the presentation of the UMF Lifetime Achievement Awards 2026, conferred upon the esteemed Vidushi Kalashree Kalamandalam Radha Marar and the legendary duo Rajan-Sajan Mishra. The Foundation also felicitated talented artists and acknowledged the valuable support of Doordarshan and its partners.

 The event concluded with a vote of thanks by UMF’s Managing Trustee, Ujith Uday Kumar, who is a young tabla prodigy himself, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the artists, guests, and attendees.
