Mumbai, June 16: The Maharashtra Cabinet has approved a Medical Cyclotron Project and the Unmanned Systems Policy 2026, marking a significant step towards strengthening the state’s healthcare infrastructure and emerging technology ecosystem.

The Medical Cyclotron Project is expected to enhance the production and availability of radioisotopes used in advanced diagnostic imaging and cancer treatment, improving access to critical healthcare services for patients across the state. The initiative is aimed at supporting medical research, precision diagnostics, and modern treatment capabilities.

In a parallel move, the Cabinet also cleared the Unmanned Systems Policy 2026, designed to promote innovation and investment in drone and autonomous technologies. The initiatives are expected to attract investment, generate employment opportunities, and position the state as a leading hub for advanced healthcare and next-generation technologies.

Industry stakeholders have welcomed the decisions, noting that both projects align with India’s broader vision of technological self-reliance and innovation-driven development.

The Cabinet’s approvals underscore Maharashtra’s focus on building future-ready infrastructure while fostering innovation in sectors with significant economic and social impact.
