Suzlon to Transition Entire Fleet to EVs by 2035, Targeting 24 Emission Reduction

Clean Energy Meets Clean Mobility: Suzlon to Switch Entire Fleet to EVs by 2035, Reducing 24 percentage Emissions

Pune, India, 25th sept 2025: After committing to power all its facilities with 100% renewable energy by 2030, Suzlon has taken another bold step in its sustainability journey by joining the global EV100 initiative of Climate Group. As part of this, Suzlon will transition its entire fleet to electric vehicles by 2035—further reducing carbon emissions, lowering fuel consumption, and strengthening India’s march towards Net Zero. EV100 is a global initiative by Climate Group that brings together leading companies committed to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles and making electric transport the new normal by 2030.

This commitment entails Suzlon electrifying 655 vehicles across its operations, covering both owned and leased vehicles in the <3.5T and 3.5–7.5T categories. This initiative directly contributes to reducing Scope 1 emissions outlined in Suzlon’s ESG commitments for 2035, which arise from direct sources within the organization, particularly its vehicular fleet.

Mr. JP Chalasani, CEO Suzlon Group said, “Our ESG framework—anchored in Organization, Product, and Operations—fuels both our sustainability agenda and business growth. With the S144 turbine, we have set a new benchmark as India’s lowest carbon footprint wind solution. Through our RE100 and EV100 commitments, we are ensuring that clean energy is complemented by clean mobility. By embedding accountability across our value chain with responsible sourcing and supplier partnerships, Suzlon is advancing towards Net Zero well ahead of our stated targets.”

Suzlon is the first Indian renewable energy company to join the EV100 initiative, further accentuating its role as a climate leader in the sector. These commitments represent key milestones in Suzlon’s broader decarbonization strategy, including its target to achieve Net Zero Scope 1 emissions by 2035.
