The Sweet Story Behind Lord Ganesha’s Favorite Modak Unveiled in Sony SAB’s ‘Ganesh Kartikeya’

India, 25th October, 2025: Sony SAB’s show ‘Gatha Shiv Parivar Ki  Ganesh Kartikeya’ is capturing hearts with its divine stories. The series beautifully portrays the extraordinary journey of Lord Shiva (Mohit Malik), Goddess Parvati (Shrenu Parikh), and their sons Lord Ganesha (Ekansh Kathrotia) and Lord Kartikeya (Subhan Khan).

In the latest emotional mythological episode, the story reveals the sweet secret behind Lord Ganesha’s favorite modak. The tale begins with Goddess Parvati, who, in a gentle lesson for her sweet-loving son, intentionally forgets to add sugar to his beloved laddus to teach him restraint. Initially disappointed, Lord Ganesha respectfully sets the laddus aside. Witnessing this, his brother Lord Kartikeya becomes emotional and seeks guidance from Lord Shiva. Inspired by Shiva, he approaches Anusuya Mata, the compassionate wife of Sage Atri.

During a grand feast, Anusuya Mata creates a new sweet  the modak  which is not only delicious but also symbolizes nourishment, thoughtfulness, and balance. When Lord Ganesha tastes this unique sweet, all his sorrow vanishes. From that moment on, modak becomes his most beloved treat, representing love, care, and mindful devotion.

Ekansh Kathrotia, who plays Lord Ganesha, shared his thoughts on the heartwarming story:
“I really enjoyed shooting this episode because it highlights the love within Ganesha’s family. Parvati Maa doesn’t stop making his sweets to scold him, but out of care. When Anusuya Mata makes the modak, it is crafted with love especially for Ganesha. That’s why modak becomes his favorite  not just for its taste, but because it’s filled with affection and maternal care.”
