Delhi Lt. Governor Attends IPCW Annual Ceremony, 73 Students Honoured

New Delhi, Apr 28: Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi, hosted Samanvay 2026, its annual celebration of talent and excellence, bringing together students, faculty, distinguished guests, and parents to reflect on achievements and shared aspirations. Marking its centenary legacy, the College continues to nurture individuals who contribute meaningfully across diverse fields.

The event was graced by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, who highlighted the institution’s distinguished legacy and its enduring role in shaping leaders, innovators, and changemakers. Aligning his remarks with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on women’s education and empowerment, he spoke about the evolving roles of women and the importance of critical thinking in a rapidly changing world. He encouraged students to remain adaptable, solution-oriented, and grounded in their values while contributing meaningfully to society. He also highlighted the growing relevance of artificial intelligence and its transformative impact on future career pathways.

The ceremony was also attended by Balaram Pani, Dean of Colleges, University of Delhi, and was presided over by Prof. Poonam Kumria, Principal of the College. In her address  she highlighted IPCW’s strong academic foundation, collaborations, and its alignment with evolving educational frameworks through NEP-led initiatives and diverse academic engagements. She further emphasized sustainability as an integral part of campus life and highlighted initiatives supporting student well-being, including mental health programmes and financial aid for inclusive education.

A key highlight was the inauguration of the College’s new official website, designed to enhance accessibility and streamline academic and administrative processes.

A total of 73 students, including those from the enabling unit, were honoured for excellence in academic and co-curricular domains. The celebration concluded with vibrant cultural performances.
