Govt Removes Domicile Certificate Requirement for SC and OBC Scholarships

New Delhi, June 19: The government has removed the requirement of domicile certificates for students applying for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) scholarships.

The move is aimed at simplifying the application process and making it easier for eligible students to access financial assistance without facing unnecessary documentation hurdles.

Officials said the decision will help reduce delays in processing scholarship applications and ensure faster delivery of benefits to students.

The step is expected to improve accessibility and encourage greater participation from eligible students belonging to SC and OBC communities.

The reform is part of ongoing efforts to make welfare schemes more efficient, student-friendly, and easier to access through simplified procedures.
