Health Express: Free Health Check-up Camp Organized at Sayajibaug, Vadodara on World Optometrist Day

Delhi, 29th April 2025 ITM VUG conducted Health Express, a free health checkup camp, at SayajibaugVadodara, on the occasion of World Optometrist Day. The event, held from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, was led by the Department of Optometry and the Marketing team of ITMVUG, in collaboration with the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), the Department of Hotel Management, and the Nursing Department. Students and faculty members from each department actively volunteered, contributing to the smooth execution of the event and ensuring quality healthcare support for the community.

The camp offered a variety of free health check-ups to passers-by and local residents, aiming to create awareness about preventive healthcare. The Department of Optometry conducted eye check-ups, emphasizing the importance of vision health. The Nursing Department provided BMI (Body Mass Index) measurements, helping individuals assess their weight and overall health status. The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) facilitated blood sugar and blood group testing, allowing early detection of health risks. Additionally, the Department of Hotel Management played a crucial role in promoting healthy eating habits by distributing Chana Sprout Nutrition Chat and Amla Juice, offering nutritious refreshments to the attendees.

A total of 167 individuals benefitted from the initiative, receiving free health assessments and dietary guidance. The overwhelming response highlighted the necessity of such community-driven programs that offer accessible healthcare solutions. The enthusiastic participation of students and faculty members not only ensured the success of the event but also reflected their commitment to serving society through their respective fields of expertise.

Speaking on the impact of the event, Dr. Anil Bisen, Provost from ITMVUG stated, “Our goal is to bring healthcare closer to the community and encourage preventive health practices. By engaging students in such initiatives, we not only enhance their learning experience but also instill a strong sense of social responsibility. Events like these emphasize the importance of routine check-ups and healthy lifestyle choices in leading a better quality of life.”

The Health Express camp reinforced ITMVUG’s commitment to social welfare and healthcare awareness. Through collaborative efforts and initiatives like these, ITMVUG continues to contribute towards building a healthier society, encouraging individuals to prioritize their well-being through regular health screenings and nutritional awareness.
