Flipkart Records Festive Demand Surge During Holi 2026

Holi is a festival defined by spontaneity and vibrant celebration, and this year, that energy translated into a significant surge on Flipkart. To match this festive spirit, we reimagined our app’s discovery experience with a bold, geometric flat-vector illustration style, making it easier than ever for users to navigate our curated selections. Our focus remained on balancing extreme affordability with high-speed convenience. With festive essentials starting at just INR 9, we witnessed a significant response for everything from traditional white kurtas and holika dahan kits to celebratory smoke guns and decor.

On Flipkart Minutes, a standout trend this year was the rise of the ‘last-minute celebrator.’ The momentum was particularly intense in the final stretch as orders increased with 6X year on year growth and over 2.5 lakh orders on 4th March between 12am-12pm, spotlighting products such as mobile pouches, men and kids t-shirts, women kurtis, sunglasses and speakers seeing strong traction alongside everyday essentials. The shift towards ‘just in time shopping’ was reflected in purchases across holi colours, pichkaris, sweets and ice cubes. While metros such as Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata remained strong, the high participation from non-metro cities like Jamshedpur, Surat, Guwahati, Siliguri, Visakhapatnam, Vadodara, Durgapur, Varanasi and Nashik underscored the rising demand for instant, value-driven shopping.
