Niloufer Sagar Alumni Production Grant Showcase 2026 announced

Drama School Mumbai’s Niloufer Sagar Alumni Production Grant (NSAPG) will present five original theatre productions as part of the NSAPG Showcase 2026, taking place from 8 June to 12 June 2026 at Rangshila Theatre, Versova. The showcase will feature one performance each evening at 7:30 PM, bringing together new work created by DSM alumni across multiple languages, forms, and performance traditions.

Since its inception, NSAPG has supported over 25 productions by DSM alumni, helping emerging theatre-makers create and stage original work beyond the classroom. The showcase marks an important step in DSM’s growing effort to support sustained independent theatre-making and create pathways for new theatrical voices and performance practices in India.

At a time when independent theatre-makers face shrinking resources and limited developmental support, initiatives like NSAPG are attempting to create longer-term structures for new work to emerge, evolve, and continue beyond a single production cycle. The showcase brings together stories rooted in regional cultures, contemporary politics, memory, gender, climate, music, and personal histories — reflecting the diversity of voices shaping contemporary Indian theatre today.
