Sustainability Push: Used PET Bottle Collection Drive Concludes at Khandagiri Mela 2026

As part of the GreenSweep initiative, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd.(HCCB), in partnership with the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Odisha Development Management Programme (ODMP), conducted a Used PET Bottle Collection Drive from 25 January 2026 to 7 February 2026.

The multi-day programme was held at Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar during the Khandagiri Mela and aimed to promote visitor awareness on responsible PET management, including the collection, segregation, and recycling of Used PET bottles, thereby strengthening PET recovery systems.

More than 80 volunteers, supervisors, and Safai Sathis were deployed on the ground for the collection, sorting, and transportation of Used PET bottles from the Khandagiri Mela Collection Centre to authorized recyclers.

To enhance public awareness, on-ground IEC activities were conducted along with a Nukkad Natak, which added significant value and deepened community engagement. Visitors actively participated and pledged their support toward responsible PET waste management.

The programme was formally inaugurated by Shri Chanchal Rana, IAS, Commissioner, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
